Intraoral Camera

During your routine dental checkups, our dentists need to thoroughly examine your mouth to check for the smallest signs of tooth decay or damage. This process becomes much easier with an intraoral camera, a wand-like device that captures close-up, high-resolution photos of the teeth and gums and displays them on a chairside monitor so that you can view them too. In addition to improving our exams, the camera also gives us a handy visual aid for explaining any issues we find and how a particular treatment could help.

Digital Dental X-Rays

With traditional film X-rays, you typically had to wait for a while as the images were developed in a separate darkroom filled with harmful chemicals. These images were often grainy, and many patients worried about the effects that could arise from being exposed to the levels of radiation emitted by these X-rays. With digital dental X-rays, those worries are gone. We can now capture crystal-clear images instantly for fast, precise diagnoses, and we’ve also reduced the radiation involved by up to 90% for a safer process.

CBCT Scanner

As helpful as dental X-rays are, they’re limited in the scope of what they can show our dentists. When planning for a complex procedure like wisdom tooth extractions or dental implant placement, we’ll usually need to use our cone beam / CT scanner. It generates a digital, three-dimensional model of your mouth, jaw, and face. Because we can clearly see the locations of various nerve pathways, soft tissues, and other delicate structures, we can easily avoid them during your procedures.

Digital Dental Impression System

If you’ve gotten a dental impression before, you probably remember having to bite down on a chunk of messy putty for a while. Our practice’s Primescan digital dental impression system makes that process a lot less gag-worthy! By scanning your mouth, we can create a digital model that serves as the basis for your crown, bridge, or other restoration. Digital dental impressions are not only easier to take than traditional ones, but they often produce more accurate results.
